Struggling With Presentations as a Non-Native English Speaker? Here’s My Solution

Published on September 1, 2025

Introduction

As a non-native English speaker, I’ve always needed extensive practice before presentations or interviews. I recorded myself speaking, but I had no reliable way to review or improve what I had just said. That frustration inspired me to build my own solution.

I created Transcripto, a lightweight Chrome extension that records the voice and instantly converts it into text. With the transcript in hand, I can easily copy it into AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to receive immediate feedback on how to optimize my vocabulary, flow, and tone for any scenario.

Exploration

Here’s how I use Transcripto after installing the extension:

Click the Start button and begin speaking.

When finished, click Stop to end the recording.

Copy the transcript and paste it into an AI tool like ChatGPT to refine my presentation.

Acting as an experienced presenter, please help me enhance my vocabulary, improve the flow, and adjust the tone of my presentation for maximum impact.

Future Ideas

This is the roadmap I envision driving for this initiative:

  1. Allow users to upload their videos easily.
  2. Integrate facial emotion and voice tone detection from uploaded videos.
  3. Use the OpenAI API to generate personalized insights on body language, facial expressions, and speech patterns.
  4. Deliver actionable feedback based on the analysis.

I hope you found something interesting!
