Who is agile? Who is Yves Hanoulle? Who am I?
I had the enormous privilege recently of being Yves Hanoulle‘s guest on his “Who is agile” video series. Yves has done so much over the years to help us all meet many people in our software community. He has a Who is Agile book series, highlighting practitioners around the globe, as well. I’m including this large picture so you can see why I feel so honored to be included in this amazing series.
Yves always asks the same ten questions for his video “who is agile” conversations. They are great questions! In the conversation Yves and I had together (note: all the Who Is Agile books are listed there with links!), we covered these topics:
- Horses instead of dating boys…
- Patriarchy
- Going into computers because she had horses to support
- Writing books
- Sharing the already solved (easy problems) so we as a community can grow and solve bigger problems
- Making friends with people
- Telepresence
- eating remote lunch together
- Being aware of unconscious bias
- DORA community
I have known Yves for so many years, I can’t remember when we first met in person. Yves and his lovely family even invited my husband and me, along with Johanna Rothman, to a wonderful meal at his house in Ghent, when we were all at a testing conference in Belgium. Yves has a wonderful back story he shares. He calls himself a “creative collaboration agent”.
Yves is one of the people who inspired me to start pairing on EVERYTHING. He is an amazing coach who has helped so many teams, and he’s an inspiring speaker as well as an accomplished author. He translated Janet Gregory’s and my Agile Testing Condensed book into Dutch. I hope I get to collaborate more with Yves in the future!
