Sketchnoting at TestBash Brighton 2024
This year at Test Bash Brighton, I was given the opportunity to run a sketchnote activity with some This year at Test Bash Brighton, I had the opportunity to run a sketchnote activity with an enthusiastic group of participants! We provided pens and paper, and used software testing articles as inspiration for creating our sketchnotes.
During the session, we shared our own sketchnoting experiences, and I offered a few tips, such as:
- Rewatch Ministry of Testing 99-second talk rounds to practice notetaking.
- Avoid sketchnoting live unless you’re confident (I personally never sketchnote live!). Instead, jot down rough notes during a talk, then convert them into sketchnotes afterward.
- Stick to one sheet of paper to give a clear, single view of all the notes for a talk or topic.
Overall, it was a fun and inspiring experience, bringing people together to explore and learn the art of sketchnoting. Hopefully, the attendees will feel confident enough to create and share their own sketchnotes!
Here are a few sketchnotes which were created during the session.

Here are my own sketchnotes based on some talks that I attended while at Test Bash Brighton.
